The night of June 13–14 opens the busiest stretch of Day 3 at the 2026 World Cup: four matches in a row, with the centrepiece being a clash between five-time world champions Brazil and Qatar 2022 semi-finalists Morocco. This duel will effectively decide who tops Group C — and, consequently, who avoids a potentially tough opponent in the Round of 32.
Schedule for the Night
- 10:00 PM Kyiv time. Qatar vs Switzerland (Group B, Matchday 1). Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara.
- 1:00 AM Kyiv time (June 14). Brazil vs Morocco (Group C, Matchday 1). MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey.
- 4:00 AM Kyiv time (June 14). Haiti vs Scotland (Group C, Matchday 1). Gillette Stadium, Foxboro.
- 7:00 AM Kyiv time (June 14). Australia vs Turkey (Group D, Matchday 1). BC Place, Vancouver.
Brazil vs Morocco (1:00 AM Kyiv time)
The headline match of the night. The five-time world champions, managed by Carlo Ancelotti, make their tournament debut against the side that four years ago became the first African team to reach a World Cup semi-final. This match will effectively determine the leader of Group C: both teams are clear favourites over Haiti and Scotland, so a win here is almost a guarantee of first place in the group.
Brazil take to the field without Neymar: the star forward is missing the opening match due to a calf muscle injury. Also absent from the squad are Estevão, Rodrygo and Éder Militão — all three were ruled out through injury before the tournament began. Vinícius Júnior, Raphinha and Matheus Cunha or Igor Thiago are expected to feature in attack, while Casemiro and Bruno Guimarães form the midfield partnership. Morocco also have personnel problems: centre-back Nayef Aguerd (groin) and winger Abde Ezzalzouli (knee) have been ruled out for the entire tournament. Noussair Mazraoui is also a doubt after picking up a shoulder injury in the last friendly against Norway. Despite the losses, the Atlas Lions retain their key players: Achraf Hakimi, Brahim Díaz, Yassine Bounou and Sofyan Amrabat.
The only previous meeting between these two sides at a World Cup came in 1998, when Brazil won 3–0. However, in a 2023 friendly, Morocco got their revenge with a 2–1 victory. The key duel of the night: Vinícius Júnior against Morocco's right flank, where Mazraoui may not feature due to injury. Meanwhile, Hakimi will threaten Brazil's left flank, where Alex Sandro is expected to play.
Qatar vs Switzerland (10:00 PM Kyiv time)
The evening kicks off with a Group B match at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Qatar are the reigning hosts of the previous World Cup, but they were eliminated in the group stage of that tournament. Switzerland are a consistent side with play-off experience. For both teams, this is their first match in a group that also includes Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina. A win here would provide a significant advantage in the race to advance from the group.
Haiti vs Scotland (4:00 AM Kyiv time)
The second Group C match at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. For Scotland, this is their first World Cup since 1998 — and straight into a group alongside Brazil and Morocco. Haiti are making their World Cup debut. Both teams know that to have any hope of advancing as one of the best third-placed sides, they need points here.
Australia vs Turkey (7:00 AM Kyiv time)
The night's programme closes with a Group D match at BC Place in Vancouver. Australia and Turkey begin their campaign in a group that also includes the USA and Paraguay. Kick-off at 7:00 AM Kyiv time — for early risers and those still awake after the previous three matches.
Recaps of all matches will be available in the evening edition of Nightly Mundial and the morning digest on June 14.
