Norway vs England: 00:00 Kyiv time, Miami
Norway are reaching the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time in their history — and doing so 28 years after their last appearance at the tournament. Ståle Solbakken's side made it this far with 2–1 victories over Ivory Coast and Brazil. Their main weapon is Erling Haaland, who has scored seven goals in five matches and sits joint-third in the top scorers' race, behind only Messi and Mbappé (eight each). Alongside him is playmaker Martin Ødegaard, who ranks among the top three for assists at the tournament.
England reached the quarter-finals in 2022 and the semi-finals in 2018. In the round of 16, the Three Lions edged past Mexico 3–2, but lost defender Jarell Quansah — suspended for two matches following a red card. The Kane–Bellingham partnership has accounted for 10 of the team's 11 goals at the tournament. Kane has six goals and is in direct competition with Haaland for the Golden Boot. In head-to-head meetings England lead 8–2 in wins, but Norway have failed to score in the last four encounters between the sides — and that is exactly the record Haaland is looking to break tonight. Compare with the other quarter-final: Argentina vs Switzerland — details here.
Who to watch: the battle of the strikers — Haaland (7 goals) vs Kane (6 goals) — and the midfield duel of Ødegaard vs Bellingham, both the key creative forces for their respective sides.
Argentina vs Switzerland: 04:00 Kyiv time, Kansas City
Reigning champions Argentina reached the quarter-finals after one of the tournament's most dramatic comebacks: having trailed 0–2 against Egypt, the Albiceleste scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to win 3–2. Messi leads the top scorers' chart with eight goals. Switzerland eliminated Colombia on penalties. The key players for the Nati are Granit Xhaka, Manuel Akanji and goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
